Inkscape is vector graphics editor program, with capabilities similar to the Freehand, Xara X, Illustrator or CorelDraw.

Inkscape creates and edits files using the SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) that is the standard program recommended by W3C. You can create vectorial graphics whit the tools included.The feature include: gradients, paths, shapes, transforms, alfa blending, texts, markers, clones, patterns and grouping.

Inkscape imports formats such as postscript, EPS, JPEG, PNG, and TIFF, and exports PNG as well as multiple vector-based formats.

Inkscape is great for vectorial graphic edition and it is free.
