On June 25, 1995 Windows released Windows 98, which was a Windows 95 extention. Windows 98 included new Hardware controllers and support for the FAT32 file system, which supported disk partitions larger than 2GB. It also included improved USB support.
In 1999, Microsoft released Windows 98 SE (Second Edition) which extended the number of hardware controllers and corrected some of the errors found on the erlier versions. For many people this is the most stable version on the Windows 9x series.
