How to convert a CD to MP3

2008-05-14

I’m sure you have always wanted to know how to convert a CD to MP3 and be able to listen to your favorite band on your MP3 player or cellphone.

This guide explains how to use CDex in order to convert a CD to MP3.

The first thing to do is download CDex which you can download from this link: Download CDex.

Once your CDex has downloaded, we enter the CD we want to convert to MP3 on the CD/DVD drive. As you can see on the image, CDex has a very simple interface.

By default, CDex is in English, so we change it to Spanish to understand better.

Once we have it in Spanish, we want the song and album titles to be filled in automatically. This is a very good option since we will not need to add the songs’ name manually. To do this, just go to CDDB -gt; Read from MusicBrainz.

As you can see, the song and album titles have been automatically completed. The only requirement was to have an Internet connection.

Now that the song titles are already there, we just need to set up the directory where we want our MP3 filed to be saved. In this case, we’ve chosen "f:CDexmy music".

Now just by pressing F9 or clicking on the second right icon our audio tracks will be converted to MP3.

After a few minutes, the CD will have been converted to MP3.

Now we only need to verify it, so we go to the directory and check whether the .mp3 files have been created.

Voila, test passed ;) It’s been easy and simple. We already have our CD converted into mp3 files.
